Enjoy Some You-Time

It is so important to take time out for yourself.  We often put others before our own needs. This will only deplete your ability to help others.  Just like in an air plane where you would place a mask on yourself first then your child, it is the same in life.   It might sound selfish but if you pass out from lack of oxygen you cannot help your child.  Just like that it is imperative that we take good care of ourselves both physically and mentally so that we can better help others

Your Inner B-I-T-C-H

Have you ever had one of those days? You wake up in a foul mood. If you could, you would not spend time with yourself. Deep down, you feel that inner B-I-T-C-H rearing its ugly head. There may be no apparent reason for this. It could be you had a sleepless night or just feeling under the weather. Sometimes it is a dream that felt so real that you woke up wanting to tear a piece of flesh off your spouse. Have you ever had one of those dreams where it seemed so real that you were so angry at your partner for no logical reason? However, being the responsible adult that you are, you get up and go through all the motions. A snapping turtle has nothing on you as you bark at just about everyone that dares to come into your path.

You know the days every little thing ticks you off. A piece of lint on the rug is a major ordeal. If you look at us wrong, we may snap. We feel fat, ugly and don’t like ourselves much, so don’t expect us to like you. We can’t explain these days. All we can do is give you a fair warning and put on our hazards. I suggest those days trying to do something that you like. But from experience, I know that even that does not always work. It sometimes requires drastic action. Put a sign on your door to warn your loved ones that you need your space today. I usually advise my family to keep their distance. I let them know that I am having a bad day and that I may bite. Having been privy to one of my days, they are more than willing to oblige and give me my requested space. They usually welcome the warning and will beat a vast path around you for the rest of the day. Hoping that the following day I have returned to my body. Take this time as a time to reflect and regroup and decompress. You may wish to try meditating or journaling. If it is a day that you are in pain, sometimes the best thing you can do is put your jammies or favorite tracksuit on and go back to bed

Lemon Water

Lemon water has fantastic benefits. This excellent inexpensive drink is best first thing in the morning and served warm. There are so many benefits; you will wonder why everyone does not start their day this way. Lemon water helps support your immune system, boosts hydration and antioxidants. The pectin fibre found in lemons will also promote weight loss as well as aid in digestion. This drink also may diminish inflammation resulting in less pain, decreases uric acid so therefore also can prevent kidney stones, and naturally freshens your breath. Studies have shown that it may also aid in fighting cancer. This unusual way to start the morning is also said to improve liver function. The aromatic smell will not only make you feel good, but you will feel more mentally alert. If you are having any doubts about adding this drink to your morning ritual, this next advantage will change your mind. Lemon water helps your skin with elasticity, which will ward off wrinkles. Enough said. This antibacterial and antiviral makes the perfect drink for this time of year.
